Financial position of the Colony.
1. The Revenue for the year 1895 amounted to
$2,275,578, or, inclusive of Land Sales and Water Account,
to $2,486,229.
The Expenditure during the same period was
$2,972,373, and thus exceeded the Revenue by $486,144.
The Statement of Assets and Liabilities at
the close of the year showed an excess of Assets over
Liabilities of $557,374.
Revenue.
2. The total Revenue of the year, amounting,
as stated above, to $2,486,229, was $406,703 more than the
Estimate of $2,079,526, and larger also than the Revenue of
1894 by $207,701.
